I have a few zipfiles i cant seem to crack, i've used the most comonly used progs out there but the brute force method could take weeks. I'm not sure if anyone out there is experienced in this sort of stuff, but any help would be appreciated

Um what do you mean what kind of zip file? Not a complete newb, but i just dont think i understand the question. I'm using the advanced archive password recovery program. Since i didnt create the zip i dont know what program zipped it so i'm not sure if i can do a plain text attack, and I've done the dictionary attack. I've also done brute force (but if i were to include all chars and make it up to 10-15 chars long it would take a year, lol. Thanks for replying....
I'm hoping a plain text option would work, it seems to make sense in the read me i just dont quite understand exactly what to do.

this might help you out a little bit:
Advanced Archive Password Recovery (or ARCHPR for short) can be used to recover lost or forgotten passwords to ZIP (PKZip, WinZip), ARJ/WinARJ, RAR/WinRAR and ACE/WinACE (1.x) archives. At the moment, there is no known method to extract the password from such compressed files, so the only available methods are "brute force" and dictionary attacks (for ARJ and ZIP formats, known-plaintext attack is also available).
